Austria is a beautiful country, filled with spectacular mountains, crystal-clear lakes, and luscious forests like something out of a fairytale. The country also has plenty of beautiful hiking trails but recently, one of these trails was blocked by an unwanted intruder; an Alpina B3 Touring.
This bizarre incident occurred while the 77-year-old driver of the B3 Touring was visiting Lake Wolfgang near Salzburg. Local publication Rosenheim24 reports that the elderly driver was guided down the hiking trail by his GPS and despite being warned by walkers that he wasn’t allowed to drive down the small trail, he continued to do so.

Indeed, the driver’s journey only ended after the trail became too narrow and he wedged the car between a rock wall and a steel and concrete fence.
It didn’t take long for local authorities to arrive on the scene and once they did, they had the Alpina driver perform a breathalyzer test, which he passed. However, he didn’t escape without punishment and was fined for not obeying local road signs. Local police also had to pull the B3 Touring out and in the process, the damage sustained to the car became visible.
Most significantly, both sides of the high-performance estate have been badly scratched by the rock face and the fence. While repairing the car is certainly possible, it will not be cheap as various body panels will need to either be repaired and repainted or replaced entirely.
