Audi RS7 Driver Does Launch Control In Reverse Knocking Out Cameraman | Carscoops
The driver of the RS7 somehow managed to launch the car in reverse, running straight into the person recording him

Modern cars’ launch control can make for some serious thrills, but as it turns out, launching your car could be more dangerous than you’d think. For example, this Audi RS7 driver managed to launch his car backwards, running into the man filming him.
The short clip, posted to Instagram by user @carstodayntomorrow, begins with the car sitting idle with its engine RPM in a range that most people would associate with a launch attempt. Soon after, the driver let off the brakes, expecting the car to shoot forward, but the opposite happened. The RS7 flew backwards, running into the man that was supposed to be recording the launch.

Perhaps the illuminated reverse lights should’ve spelled imminent disaster for the cameraman, but we’ll give him the benefit of the doubt since it’s daytime in the video and the lights could’ve been difficult to see. On top of that, even if the lights were visible, most people wouldn’t expect a car to launch in reverse, assuming the advanced software even let it do so in the first place. Upon closer inspection, it appears the driver was manually launching the car rather than using the launch control program, which is likely why the car allowed him to go in reverse.

Thankfully, the cameraman was rather close to the RS7, so it didn’t have enough time to get up to a truly dangerous speed before impact. While no details are known for sure, it doesn’t appear as though the cameraman suffered any serious injuries (assuming any injuries were sustained at all), as he can be heard laughing as he promptly gets back up from his knocked-down state.
