First dates can be quite nerve-wracking and for a man from Georgia, a first date quickly turned into a nightmare when his date made off with his pickup truck.
Police report that Wesley Burson met 37-year-old Jenifer Lee Gray on a dating app called Plenty of Fish and arranged an Uber to pick her up from a hotel at the Northwest Atlanta hotel and bring her back to his place.

However, when Burson went to use the bathroom, he heard his truck start outside and quickly discovered that Gray had made off with his truck. Burson immediately called 911 and quickly, a police officer spotted the stolen vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. However, Gray wasn’t willing to stop and accelerated to over 100 mph (160 km/h) in an attempt to flee.
Local officers were only able to detain Gray after a member of the sheriff’s office H.E.A.T unit standing on the interstate used stop sticks to slow down the pickup. An officer then performed a PIT maneuver to bring Gray to a stop.
“On the interstate, speeds were over 100 mph, she was driving recklessly, trying to swerve and hit our patrol car while he was attempting to do a PIT maneuver,” Coweta County Sheriff’s Sgt. Toby Nix told Fox 5 Atlanta.
The woman was arrested and transported to Piedmont Newnan Hospital for an evaluation. She was then moved to Coweta County Jail and charged with theft by taking and fleeing/attempting to elude a police officer.
