Running from the police is never a good idea and that’s especially true if you’re not exactly speed racer behind the wheel. However, that didn’t stop this genius from attempting to try their luck.
While the short clip uploaded to Reddit doesn’t provide much context, it shows police in pursuit of a Honda CR-V. As the officer or trooper closes in, the driver attempts to pass a semi on the right.
This is perplexing as the left lane seems wide open and it’s a decision that will come back to haunt them. As you can see, the CR-V successfully changes lanes, but the driver overcorrects and slams into the side of the semi. They manage to recover, but drive the crossover off the highway and onto the grass.
Undeterred, the driver plows through a fence before hitting an embankment, launching the crossover into a building. The video ends shortly thereafter as police close in.
The incident appears to have taken place in Nebraska and the original poster pointed to an inmate that has been charged with willful reckless driving, operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest, refusing a preliminary breath test, and driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content of “.15+” with two prior convictions. If this is indeed the same person who was driving the CR-V, they’re facing some serious consequences.
