Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Caught Doing 152 MPH In A 55 MPH Zone

The driver of a Lamborghini Aventador SVJ got a reality check in California recently after being stopped for almost driving at three times the legal speed limit.

Officers from the California Highway Patrol in the Buellton area of the state snapped the Italian supercar traveling at 152 mph (244 km/h) through a 55 mph (88 km/h) zone on SR-154. That is some way shy of the car’s top speed but is clearly much faster than anyone with any common sense would dare to drive in a 55 mph zone.

“We know how tempting it can be to “open it up” when your car is fast and the weather is beautiful, but save it for the track!,” California Highway Patrol – Buellton wrote on Facebook after the incident.”

An image of the fine shared to Facebook reveals that the driver was cited for a misdemeanor of reckless driving. It is unclear how much they will have to pay in fines but we have a sneaking suspicion the punishment will be relatively light considering the crime.

“CHP Buellton officers will continue to conduct Zero Tolerance enforcement to keep our roadways safe for ALL motorists,” the police force added. “Please help by doing your part. Slow down, remove distractions, don’t drink and drive and wear your seatbelts!”

The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ is the most eye-catching of all Aventador models and while the limited-run Ultimae has slightly more power, the SVJ remains the most hardcore. Not only it’s powered by a screaming 6.5-liter naturally-aspirated V12 but it is also equipped with an array of advanced aerodynamic components.
