Ratchet straps are useful for securing cargo, but this driver appears to have used one to the extreme.
As you can see in this video uploaded to Reddit, a Ford F-Series Super Duty apparently broke down while hauling a trailer loaded with a Porsche Panamera, a Hyundai, and a Nissan.
Instead of getting another truck, swapping out the trailer, and then calling a tow truck, our fearless team decided to put their faith in a single ratchet strap. As a result, there was a Super Duty towing another Super Duty, which was hauling a trailer loaded with three different vehicles.
Needless to say, that’s a bad idea and one made even worse by the original poster’s claim that they were traveling at 75 mph (121 km/h). While it’d be slightly more understandable if they were traveling slowly just to get to the nearest exit, this tow job from hell went on long enough for the poster to notice it, get in front of them, pull over to the side of the road, and then film it.
There’s no word on how long this crazy convoy lasted, but the original poster said they called police. That’s a wise move as the strap could break and potentially lead to an accident.
