Land Rover is giving one customer an experience that’s much less terrestrial than its name suggests. The luxury SUV brand and Virgin Galactic are running a contest in which the grand prize is a flight into space.
The Adventure of a Lifetime Sweepstakes is open to new and existing Land Rover owners who live in the U.S. Flight time is about 90 minutes, officials told Automotive News.
“Land Rover owners love adventure,” JLR CEO Joe Eberhardt said in a release. “Land Rover and Virgin Galactic share a spirit for innovation and exploration,” he added, “and now together we are offering our owners the adventure of a lifetime.”
Blair Rich, president of Virgin Galactic, called the company’s space flight experience “unmatched.”
Entries are being accepted through June 20 at landroveradventureofalifetime.com.
After registering, owners can get additional entries by creating a Space Team and referring friends and family to join. Space Team members can generate additional entries for the Land Rover owner by signing up online to receive more information about Land Rover (one entry), ordering a new Land Rover vehicle (50 entries), and purchasing, financing or leasing a new Land Rover vehicle (100 entries).
The grand prize winner will be announced around Aug. 15, Land Rover said.
